About us

Of all the senses, sight must be the most delightful.<
Helen Keller said the above many years back, wondering how it must be – to see.

Since then, ophthalmic science has made some spectacular progress, and we have managed to find treatments for many of the ailments that went untreated those days.

Unfortunately, in spite of that advancement, there are areas in the world where people are still going blind, with no availability to even basic retinal care.

Diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinopathy of prematurity, retinal afflictions of uveitis, etc. are increasingly being seen in such areas, which potentially may be due to better awareness and some amount of available diagnostic methods, but it is also likely to be due to increasing prevalence of these disorders around the world.
This is where RETINA GLOBAL steps in.
So how can we help such people?

RETINA GLOBAL plans on outreach programs to such identified areas, with participation from volunteer retina specialists from around the world, who will provide their time and expertise, to help make a difference.

“Inability to see can be devastating to an individual. It affects his personal freedom, the freedom to interact and work in society, and to earn a decent wage for his own independence….”

What is RETINA GLOBAL?
The organization focuses on finding solutions on a global scale, by reaching out to underserved areas anywhere in the world, with help of committed voluntary retina specialists. We work with eye care personnel, local volunteers, local organizations and the government officials in areas of outreach.
